| Wow, what a week...and it is only Tuesday.
Saturday, went to Jordan's graduation party at the Sr. Citizen's Center. I had a BLAST. Those are some of my favorite people to hang out with, but we never get to anymore. Played some old kindergarten games like duck, duck, goose; limbo; and musical chairs. Dark room, strobe light, musical chairs, down to the final two circling one chair...yeah...that made me REALLY dizzy.
Monday, had one of the worst things to ever happen to me, which shows how blessed I've been in life for this to be one of the worst. Every Memorial Day, my family goes out to my maternal grandmother's grave to put up some flowers and remember (she passed away before I was born). This was our first Memorial Day without my maternal grandfather, who passed away in January. So we're on the way to East Lynn, we being my dad, mom, step-grandma, and myself, and we were involved in a head-on collision. Ford Ranger pickup crossed the double yellow and drilled us...we had no where to go either, we were right up against the guard rail. It was a pretty hard shot. I saw it in time to brace myself, so I was ok. Dad was ok too, but my mom broke her wrist and sprained her knee, while my step-grandma's chest was bruised pretty badly. Probably totaled our van. Spent all afternoon at the hospital. Definately wasn't any fun. But we were lucky that it wasn't any worse than what it was. So now all 3 of us are sore, mom a lil worse than Dad and I, but we're all ok. I'm going to go check on my step-grandma (she was released as well yesterday).
Today I slept like a baby...14 hours (yes, I got up for a few minutes at a time, but I was WELL-rested when I got up this morning). I have so much to take care of. I need to get to Huntington and finish that highlight tape, but I can't go any earlier than Monday. I'm just too sore to be out running around a whole lot. I have to take care of so many things tomorrow though...it's sad. But I'll get it done and keep on going. Hopefully one of these days, I'll begin to enjoy this summer vacation, but so far, it's been awful. |
